Paris: City full of not only historical but personal experiences

It's the 4th morning here in Paris. The city is rather quite with all the histories and stories concealed within the city. I wake up with the sound of garbage collector which circulates city. I hear children's voice from the next door and here, sun rises again and the life or parisians and parisennnes start.

I used to stay with the homestay family with whom I stayed 1yr and 6months ago. The family was nice enough to offer me to come back and stay with them for this visit as well.

Three children grow rapidly. When I see teenager's difficulty(as it's too radical to say "teenager's crisis" at this moment) started to the elder daughter, I understand no matter where you live, what you eat, what you feel, humans take the similar path in ones' lives. Seeing that, I remember how I was all gloomy and having "anti-parents/society what-so-ever" attitude back then.

I talk with the younger daughter and get surprised how she is practicing spellings of verbes and how the forms of verbes change with each subject. I remember I was Kanji fanatic back then collecting "star-shaped" stickers which we could get once we got 100 percent of the Kanji test.

I talk with mother once her husband leaves to work and her children leave to school in the morning. She is someone I respect as from someone outside, she is the perfect mother of three children, wonderful wife and powerful career-woman working for the luxurious brand shop. Here, we talk as two "women". We talk about every little small thing about my life and her life without any of the position within the society or family.

Then I feel something. This city, full of all the historical events back then and nowm is not only about important events written in newspaper or history books. When newspaper talks about "demonstration of students against government's employment policies", or TV discusses about "immigrants' policy", we focus much to the image of the city within the context of media.

Without saying but often we tend to forget that the city is full of all the personal experiences. We get too excited and gossip-like when we see or hear the stories from media. Being too theoretical or critic-like, we dismiss all those personal stories which may could be shared to culture to culture; just like the experience of one family or the feeling of one woman.
