Real life change than mere bubble

It's been awhile to feel this way.

Recently, I have been full of positive energies and powers. However, I can't be just a happy-go-lucky seeing rosy future all the time type of dreaming woman. I have to admit that I am upset about something. Indeed, I am deeply shocked and feel rather desperate.

The Lower House on Friday passed a bill on holding a national referendum required to revise the Constitution (Mainly "Article 9" of the Peace constitution which currently prohibits Japan to have our own arm force except for the purpose of our own self-defence).

The referendum bill passed inlcudes the following:
- The minimum voting age for the referendum will be 18.
- The national referendum bill's only applied to amendment of the Constitution.
- 50% of valid vote allows the government to change the Constitution.
- There will be no limitation for the lowest voting rate.
- The bill for amending the Constitution can be submitted in the Diet with the agreements of more than 100 politicians in the Lower House (480 total in the Lower House) and more than 50 politicians in the Upper House (250 total in the Upper House) .

I am slightly confused here. I believe I am a citizen of Liberal Democratic state, at least even if it was only theoretical. In order to pursue such, our state uses the methods including "decision by majority". Now, somehow, the basis of this method itself was "amended" in the bill. Unlike before when the government needed 50% of Japanese citizens' agreement, they can only worry about the 50% of those who voted. The trick is, if the voting rate for the National Referentum is low just like the other national or local election, our nation's future could be choosen by a partial Japanese population.

"Decision by majority" is just a method and the method may never be the best and the most democratic way ever. Still, changing the definition of "majority" deliverately just makes me quite embrassed and perplexed. Politicians may say if the citizens want to show their attitude, just simply go to vote. Sure, one credit for that. But we can't change the subject here either.

Nagatacho is moving so quickly for a very critical shift. We can't just watch TV mocking these politicians. They aren't actors of our favorite TV show. They are in fact, the real people who are really changing our present and our future. Why, for the god's sake, do we care more on which company merged, which real estate was sold, where the Nikkei goes or how the sales goes for a new product our company started selling? There is defenitely something more critical passed out there.

It's not about the "bubble". It's about the "real future".
