Do you live in a room with a view?

After probably a decade of reading the original book and the movie taken following the book, I watched the movie version of "A Room With a View" again. How beautiful the sceneries are and how delicately each character is depicted in the story. I would say this is one of my most favorite movies among those I have seen.

It is silly to start talking about what the story is about but if I am allowed, let me say the beauty of the story is heavily on its theme, the way it used the symbols and the metophors effectively.

The story takes place in Italy and England and the author Forster use these two countries as a comparison to depict his theme through the symbols. Another metophor is, just described in the title "a room" versus "a view". A room implyng the old fashioned traditionals, rituals and mind sets on sexuality, social classes and more and a view or in another word the outside a room implying open, free mind which can break through the former norms.

Do you live in a room with a view? Do you live in a room with your own view? Although the story itself takes a place in Europe in early twenties, the theme truly echoes to me and there are many points I can synthesize with even now.
